How much are child’s passports?
Child passports cost £46, or £55.75 using Check and Send. You can’t get a refund if you cancel your application or you’re not entitled to a passport.
What age is a child’s passport up to?
Children’s passports nearly or over 16 years old. Your child must apply for a 10-year adult passport if they’ll be 16 within the next few weeks or they’re already over 16. They can apply without getting parental consent.
Should both parents have to sign for a child’s passport?
How Long Should It Take – Guidance On Current Processing Times
Your application should take around 4 – 6 weeks from when it’s received by Her Majesty’s Passport Office in the UK.
You’ll have to pay a fee for your Child’s passport and a courier fee of £23.01 in Thailand. This covers the cost of sending your passport to Liverpool passport office & it being returned to VFS Thailand for collection. This does not include the passport fee of £53.00 currently , so the total you must pay is £76.01
How To Apply For A British Passport – Overseas UK Passport Application In Thailand
- Down load the OS passport form – Passport application form
- Include 2 identical photos of the child these should be 45 mm high x 35 mm wide – Passport photographs guidance
- Child original birth certificate ( with a translation)
- Fathers long UK birth certificate – not the short version
- Marriage certificate if the child’s parents are married
- Mothers birth certificate ( with a translation)
- Copy of mothers ID card
- Copy of mothers passport
- Tabian baan – house blue book
- Confirmation from the childs mother in writing – that she agrees to the application.
- Confirmation of address in Thailand – utility bill – house blue book

The UK passport office can ask for further documents from the child’s parent whom is passing on nationality. In some cases they may ask for his/hers mother & fathers birth certificate, the above is guidance only.
